Graduate Student Research Grant Program

Award Requirements
Recipients of the Joshua Tree National Park Graduate Student Research Grant are required to fulfill:
Awardees must coordinate their work with the Joshua Tree National Park Chief of Resources prior to conducting their investigations.  Work must be permitted through the National Park Service research permitting and reporting process.
Joshua Tree National Park may be able to assist the awardees with logistics, though this would be on a case-by-case basis.

Recipient Requirements
This award program is designed to promote a high degree of academic professionalism and to promote the transfer of scientific knowledge to NPS managers and to the public.

Semi-annual reports and 10 copies of a final report are to be sent to Joshua Tree National Park Resource Division.

Award recipients should expect to publicly present a review of their work and findings in a Desert Institute’s lecture.


A webpage outlining the proposal, field work and conclusions should be prepared for posting on the Joshua Tree National Park Association’s website.



The timeline for this project should be designed to be completed within 24 months of accepting the award.
