 Advanced Photography Workshop

Instructor: David Jesse McChesney, Photographer, Author,  “The Mojave Desert: Miles of Wonder” and ”Muir Roots: At One with the Wild”
Hike Level: Moderate

Take your photography to the next level with photographer David Jesse McChesney. In this workshop & field class, McChesney will focus on advanced techniques used to capture wildlife and desert landscapes.  He will discuss numerous topics such as: methods to improve composition, how to maximize depth of field, use of foregrounds and backgrounds, how to control contrast, and utilize shadows. This two day field class will explore the peaks and valleys of the Quail Mountain Wilderness with a special session at Nolina Peak, where participants will learn how to turn desert images from ordinary to extraordinary.  The field locations present great panoramic views and are home to bobcat, bighorn sheep, as well as a stunning Joshua tree forest.  McChesney will end the class with his favorite tips and tricks on how to catch the special moments in the park with a camera. Bring your tripod (required) and enjoy a few days in the park.

A camping option at Black Rock Campground is available.  Sign up soon as the class size is limited to 12.
