Enhance your trip to Joshua Tree National Park with a field investigation for kids. A quest is about exploration while using observation, critical thinking, and investigative skills. Armed with Google Earth maps, student teams follow clues to unlock mysteries of the Mojave Desert and complete activities to explore plant and animal adaptations and distributions within a designated study site. Ages of old growth plant life in this study site will astonish you!
Bring snacks, a lunch and water, a day pack, comfortable shoes, sunscreen and hat, and an open mind for learning in the Joshua Tree National Park!
This is a half-day course for children from 8 – 13 years accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian. Field trip material correlates with grade level science standards and will support your child’s science education.
If you are a member of JTNPA/PINE you will get a $10 discount off every Desert Institute class. If you are not a member you can become one here.
