Joshua Tree Visitor Center

The Legacy Project is the philanthropic wing of the association that upon request of the park superintendent will choose fundraising projects on a yearly basis that could include education, science, research and outreach programs; the preservation and enhancement of public resources, and; the acquisition of lands and other property essential to park purposes as provided by law. click here for more information...
The association in 2006 purchased the visitor center and since opening its doors, over 130,000 visitors have benefited from the visitor information and exhibits provided by the association owned and operated center. The association hopes to raise 1 million dollars so that they may donate the building and land directly to the park. As part of the campaign, a new Donor Wall at Joshua Tree Visitor Center was recently designed. Donors who contribute $1000 or more will have their name engraved on a metal plaque in the shape of a Joshua Tree rock! The wall will be located in the visitor center outdoor sculpture garden and will incorporate a Joshua tree surrounded by the engraved polished metal “rock” nameplates in various desert colors. The rocks will mirror the unique boulder formations for which the park is known.
