Volunteer with the Joshua Tree National Park Association
Our Desert Institute field study courses and lecture series rely on volunteers to keep them running smoothly. To find out about volunteer opportunities with the Desert Institute, please contact the Program Coordinator, or give the Desert Institute a call at 760-367-5535.
Our next Field Class Representative training program will be on Friday, September 6, Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, 2013. This program covers the role of the Desert Institute Field Class Volunteer, Risk Management and Emergency Protocols, Radio Communication Protocols, First Aid and CPR Training. “Lead” Field Class Representative training will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2013, for experienced Desert Institute volunteers. All training programs take place at the Black Rock Canyon Campground Conference Room in Yucca Valley (9800 Black Rock Canyon Road).
Volunteers are often needed to help with public events sponsored by Joshua Tree National Park Association, work in our Visitor Center bookstores, and assist behind the scenes with inventory and office support. For information about getting involved as a volunteer at Joshua Tree National Park, contact the park’s Volunteer Coordinator.
