Dear Artist:

Planning is taking place for the Eighteenth Annual Joshua Tree National Park Art Festival, sponsored by Joshua Tree National Park Association(JTNPA).

The Festival committee is reviewing artwork for consideration for the 2010 Art Festival that will be held April 2, 3 and 4. Hours each day will be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Artists must be in attendance and offer their work for sale. The setup fee will be $65.00 and we ask that 10% of your sales receipts be donated to the Joshua Tree National Park Association to support Joshua Tree National Park. JTNPA will hold the permit required by the National Park Service and will process all sales for you. Artists will
receive their sales proceeds in a check from JTNPA the week after the festival.

The Joshua Tree National Park Art Festival must serve the mission of the Association and therefore the following criteria have been established regarding the subject matter to be exhibited at the Art Festival.

Only artwork representing the landscape, wildlife, people, history and archaeology of the Joshua Tree National Park and deserts of California will be exhibited. Work poorly crafted or without artistic merit will not be exhibited.

If you are interested in having your work considered and you believe it meets the show criteria, please send at least five photos of your work, a résumé and a self-addressed return postage paid envelope to Marian Tremblay,  74485 National Park Dr,  Twentynine Palms, CA  92277, by  September  30, 2009. Label the photos including your name, medium,  and  dimensions. For  more  information  or  if  you have any questions, please call Margo Recker at 760-367-1550.

You’ll be advised of the committee’s decision on or about December 16, 2009.  If selected for inclusion in this year’s festival you will be requested to submit an application and the required setup fee.
