Jacqueline Guevara

Executive Director


Jacqueline Guevara has over 25 years’ experience in non-profit management. Her passion for the desert, coupled with her extensive background in social services, makes her a strong advocate for protecting public lands while promoting education of diverse audiences about the lands and their historical, cultural, and recreational values. A 40-year desert resident, Jacqueline moved to the Morongo Basin in 2001. She currently resides in Yucca Valley with her family.

Director of Business Operations


Marian Tremblay is a married mother of 3 and a grandma to 7. Marian has spent the last 13 plus years overseeing the Business operations of Joshua Tree National Park Association. "I am proud of the work that I do, but more proud of the work the Staff does to create fond memories for the visitor, either with great gifts or wonderful Interpretive information."

Kevin Wong

Kevin Wong

Desert Institute Program Director


As the Director of the Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park, Kevin Wong creates, markets, and implements adult educational programs in the national park on topics of natural science, cultural history, “how-to” classes, women’s programs, and creative arts classes. Program participants come from all over the country. Kevin was recently chosen to participate in the inaugural Social Innovation Institute program at UC Riverside. He also holds a California teaching certificate in Marketing. Prior to working in the Southern California deserts, he lived on the ocean designing scuba equipment, teaching scuba diving at the Ecuadorian Oceanographic Institute, and treasure hunting for Spanish galleons in the Bahamas and in South America.

Amanda Lopez

Desert Institute Assistant


Amanda Lopez was born and raised in Joshua Tree. As the Desert Institute Assistant she helps organize the field classes to run smoothly. She also works for the San Bernardino National Forest as an assistant researcher surveyor conducting visitor use surveys. Her environmental career started as a volunteer for the Klamath National Forest, where she was 1 of 3 trail crew members for over 800 miles of trail. At Klamath she found her passion for all types of recreation management. However, her heart never left the desert or JTNP, as your home is where your heart is. She hikes daily with her best friend, an 80 pound German Shepard.

Buyer and Inventory Manager


Cindy Carrington is the Buyer for the Joshua Tree National Park visitor centers, and oversees all inventory. Cindy came to Joshua Tree National Park Association in 2014 after retiring from a position as Retail Sales Representative for Nestle USA. The things Cindy loves most in life are family, spending time with friends, and all the wonderful people she works with at the Joshua Tree National Park Association. "It's a wonderful feeling when you wake up in the morning and you can't wait to get to work!"

Cindy Cunningham is the Assistant Buyer for Joshua Tree National Park Association, and has been with the organization since 2014. Part of Cindy's job is to bring in new and exciting products to our visitor centers. "Making our visitors happy is our number one priority."

Office Manager


Patty Angel Lopez is currently the JTNPA Office Manager housed at the Park Headquarters. In addition to managing the day to day office operations, she also administers the membership program. Patty started out with the Association as an Information Specialist at the Visitor Centers approximately two years ago and fell in love with the JTNPA and what it stands for. Patty truly LOVES her job and her interactions with JTNPA donors, members, and supporters as well as with the NPS and JTNPA staff. She enjoys off-roading and spending time with her dogs.
