Boundary Buddies Program

Human Impact

Boundary Buddies
The Boundary Buddy neighbor outreach program provides people living in immediate proximity to the park with education specific to fire prevention, climate change conservation needs for Joshua tree refugia. It also provides the opportunity for park staff and representatives to collaborate with potential stewards along the park boundary to reduce trespass and illegal incursions; to combat spread of nonnative invasive plants; to discuss and clarify the use of stock animals in the park; and graffiti identification, prevention, and reduction. JTNPA-raised funds cover the costs associated with meeting and partnering with boundary neighbors on these issues.
